釧路といえば、港と海。 釧路港は明治32年（1899年）に開港し、昭和20年代に国の重要港湾に指定され、2019年には開港120年を迎えます。国内3大漁港のひとつである釧路漁港をはじめ、国際コンテナ・コンビナート、国産石炭埠頭、耐震旅客船ターミナルなどを有する北海道最大の岸壁総延長を誇る国際貿易港湾です。

 
釧路川河口から釧路港を見渡す美しい景色は観光の名所となり、釧路フィッシャーマンズワーフMOOなどの観光商業施設が立ち並びます。 釧路港の夕日は、インドネシアのバリ島、フィリピンのマニラとともに「世界3大夕日」と称賛され、多くのカメラマンが集まります。

 
釧路港の耐震旅客ターミナルには、毎年世界中から次々と豪華な大型客船が来航します。

 
国内有数の水揚げ量を記録する釧路漁港では、心地よい潮風と魚介の香りが漂います。

 
釧路副港市場にある「マリン・トポスくしろ」の特設会場では、さんまやいかの水揚げが始まる9月上旬に「釧路Oh！さかなまつり」が開催され、食を通じて釧路の港と海を楽しむことができます。

 
What is famous in Kushiro? The harbor and the sea.  The Kushiro port opened in 1899 and was designated as one of the most important ports in Japan in the 1940s. It will be its 120th year anniversary since opening in 2019.  The Kushiro port is one of the largest ports in Japan. It is also the biggest international trade port in Hokkaido, including an international container terminal, a domestic coal wharf and a seismic ferry terminal.

 
The beautiful scenery overlooking the Kushiro port when viewed from the Kushiro River Estuary has become a tourist attraction, and there are many sightseeing places such as "Kushiro Fishermans Wharf Moo". The sunset at the Kushiro harbor is praised as one of the world’s “Largest Three Sunsets” alongside Bali and Manila and it's a popular photography destination.
